Positive parenting and lifestyle blogger, Amaka Benson started the year promoting her newly released book “Micah’s Meals” in Lagos and Abuja. A cookbook for babies, toddlers and beyond. Fresh off a successful launch in London, she was well received by her supporters and fellow mothers. Tickets sold out in minutes as people had been looking forward to meeting and interacting with her at the various events.
The Lagos Tour kicked off on Saturday, 7th of January 2017 with a Q and A session at Poosh, hosted by Bunmi George of Shreddergang.
A few days later, she stopped by at Inspiration and Cool Fm where she shared her success story, experience as mum of 2 and how the demands from her readers motivated her to write the book.
The next official stop on the tour was at Sweet Kiwi, who welcomed her with a special flavour called ‘Micah’s Treat’. She signed books and was able to meet with fellow mums who were just as passionate about meal time with their kids as she was. The turnout was amazing as books were completely sold out by the end of the event.
The highlight of Lagos was the event at Ruff N Tumble G.R.A Ikeja, where she was interviewed by the CEO, Mrs Adenike Ogunlesi who was elated to host her in-store. Amongst the attendees were two mums who came all the way from Ogun state and Ilorin respectively. Final stops of the tour in Lagos were, Booksville in Ikoyi and The Baby Lounge in VI.
The Abuja leg of the tour kicked off with a fun interactive session with parents at the Sage School. Quarters Cafe hosted her to brunch with her readers and supporters, where she was able to connect with them, one on one.
The following day she was met with a full house at the Nail Bar for a Q & A Session hosted by Samiah Oyekan-Ahmed of The Gift Source. People who attended were able to gain insight on how she was inspired to write the book and much more.
The highlight of the Abuja tour was the event at Teenee Todds Daycare, where she hosted a Q & A and a world class chef made select dishes from the cookbook that guests couldn’t stop raving about.
24 days and 15 events later, the tour successfully came to an end at Exclusive Stores on the 29th of January, she met with parents and signed purchased copies of her book, Micah’s Meals.
All events garnered positive feedback, with passionate conversations about everything baby related from feeding to sleeping patterns. Maky stressed on the importance of introducing tastes, colours and flavours to babies from the beginning of weaning. The response to the book has been tremendous, everyone commended her on the book and how the recipes have positively impacted their homes.
