King Baabu

King Baabu

King BAABU is written by the Nobel Prize Winner Wole Soyinka.

“General Basha Bash takes power in a bloodless coup d’etat and in the spirit of democracy re-christens himself King Baabu.”

With King Baabu, we intend not to abuse nor accuse but rather to use the opportunity to infuse a level of caution in our choice of leadership yet we also intend that you laugh it off. Easy laughter is a genuine tonic for recession.

King Baabu, after the manner of despotic tendencies, satirically arouses an exaggerated imitation of our participation as a people in a funny yet absurd manner.

Don’t get cracked.

King Baabu features an ensemble of seasoned theatre players which include: Toritseju Ejoh, Tessy Brown, Abiodun Kassim, Makinde Adeniran, Seun Kentebe

Directed by Toyin Oshinaike

Dates: 12th,13th, 19th, 20th, 26th & a special Command performance on the 27th of August 2017.

Venue: Amphitheatre, Freedom Park Lagos. 1, Hospital Road, Lagos Island (Former Colonial Prisons)

Time: 7pm

Ticket: N2,000
