Places to Hangout with the Family this Weekend

Hey Mums! Welcome to the month of love. Where will you be hanging out with the family this weekend? You might want to attend a fitness class or a stage play. Check these out.

ARTICULATE JOE (Stage Play)

Park Theatre presents OneSix Productions in Toyin Oshinaike’s ARTICULATE JOE (Jubilee Of Experience). In February Theatre Audiences in Lagos will be treated to 3 weekends of performance magic in celebration of arguably Nigeria’s finest and most consistent Theatre performer.

Morning Yet on Judgement Day (4th & 5th February 2017)

A friend, fresh from the Youth Corps, dies in a ghastly motor accident while another, also presumed dead by same hospital, wakes up miraculously after twelve hours in the mortuary. This opens a golden opportunity to combat recession as his jobless friends move to sue the hospital for murderous negligence.

But what do they get still?

Betrayal and a handful of dust plagued by frustration. The reality of the deadly hands of unemployment buries their post graduation dreams of grandeur, under the nightmare of an unsung and spent youth force.
From the play, we intend to address the need to consciously bother, manage, and even creatively recycle, the generational waste of the ‘Youths Of Today’

When you wear amplifying glasses in the dark, what you get is amplified darkness.
The play features Toyin Oshinaike, Zara Ejoh, Kehinde Fasuyi, Toju Ejoh, Biodun Kassim, and introducing DeeDee

Wat’s Dis All About (11th & 12th February 2017)

Wat’s Dis All About is a Nigerian street version of WOZA ALBERT– a South African play created by Mbongeni Ngema, Percy Mtwa and Barney Simon under the siege of apartheid and became one of the most outstanding successes in the anti-apartheid crusade. Its adaptation to the Nigerian socio-political situation is also based on the dazzling, hilarious and abstract idea of the coming of the Messiah to Nigeria.

‘Wat’s Dis All About’ is a two man comedy play with each actor playing multiple distinctive characters morphing from one skit to another as the story unfolds. It is a fast paced hilarious play riding on a synergy of style and artistic stamina.
The play features Toyin Oshinaike, a theatre mainstay and Sinmileoluwa Hassan (OAP, Lagos Traffic Radio).
Wat’s Dis All About is written in pidgin English by Toyin Oshinaike.
