World Book Day at The Reading Corner

The reading corner will be celebrating World Book Day on Saturday 25th February 2017.  The aim of the event is to encourage and spread the joy of reading. With this in mind they are having a book drive where all those attending are asked to kindly drop off a used book to donate to The Nigerian Red Cross. Also there will be several book reading and a live show of the popular children’s book Handa’s Surprise.

Snacks and drinks available

All this will be taking place @readingcornerng Fantasyland, Alfred Rewane Road, Ikoyi, from 2pm.

YouthHubAfrica on behalf of its partners; the UNFPA Nigeria, Young men network Against Sexual and Gender Based Violence, Roskilde festival Foundation, The Potter Films production and YouthHubAfricaTV invites you to the Film premiere “Sandra’s Cross” in commemoration of 2017 International Day of Zero tolerance for Female Genital Mutilation.

“Sandra’s Cross” is a web series that aims to cause a social engineering that will lead to better awareness and conversation about issues of Gender-Based Violence, particularly FGM and then trigger a behavior change using new media technology.

Olori Wuraola #GiveBack Concert

House of Oduduwa Foundation presents Olori Wuraola #Give Back Concert: Reaching out with Love edition. The concert features great acts as 2 Face Idibia (2 Baba), Cobhams Asuquo, Waje, Dare Art Alade, Funke Akindele (Jenifa), and other fantastic arts.

The project is committed to helping orphaned children in the country fulfill their potential. “We want to assist in the renovation of local orphanages and also provide food and supplies for orphans in rural areas of Nigeria and across Africa,” Olori Wuraola said.

According to Olori Wuraola, the concert would also explore the gifts and talents in the less- privileged children. It would expose them to opportunities capable of launching them into stardom in their various professions.
