Hi Mums! Today’s recipe is a perfect Nigerian homemade recipe; the Chicken, Squash and Spinach Puree. This is a perfect for babies getting more comfortable with solid food. If your baby is 6 months+ this is definitely worth trying, they will love it. The variety of ingredients makes this a filling, delicious and healthy meal for your baby.
Ingredients
100 grams chicken breast
1 pc garlic clove
25 grams spinach
120 grams butternut
1 pc onion
2 tbsps cooking oil
1 pc seasoning cube
15 grams parmesan cheese
1 pc apple
Method
- Dice onion, apple (make sure to peel), butternut and chicken breast. Crush 1 garlic clove and set aside.
- Put a frying pan over medium heat and pour in the oil to heat up. Add in the onions to fry for a few minutes, then the apple, squash and chicken. Allow to fry for about 4 minutes. Add in the garlic and fry for another minute.
- Pour in about 1 cup of water and crush in ½ chicken seasoning cube. Allow to cook for about 15 minutes.
- Add in the spinach to cook for about 2 minutes. Blend contents to your preferred consistency. Grate the parmesan cheese into the puree and stir.
- Best served warm.
