Prince George who is attending Thomas’ Battersea- an independent fee paying school in South London, arrived with his dad on his first day of school. He was smartly dressed in his navy school uniform and had a backpack labeled with his name- George Cambridge. His mother who was unavoidably absent had to miss this milestone in her son’s life because she was ill with morning sickness.

Prince George who turned 4 in July, held onto his father’s hand as they walked towards the school. They were greeted by Helen Haslem, head of Thomas’ lower school, who stretched out her hands towards Prince George and he and shook it politely. His father also introduced himself and told her how Prince George had been pointing happily to other children in their school uniform.

The third in line to the throne, young Prince George spent his first day settling in with his classmates and getting accustomed to his new school environment.

Speaking Later that day at an afternoon event for the England Under 20 football team, he was asked by Paul Simpson, the manager, whether he had had a nice school day. “Stressful day”, the duke replied. “Doing a school run. It was really nice actually.It went well”.

George is the eldest child of the royal couple. They also have a daughter, 2-year-old Princess Charlotte and they announced recently that they are expecting a third child.
