Vivian Fowler Memorial College for Girls is located in Ikeja, Lagos, Nigeria. The school was founded in 1991 by Chief Dr. (Mrs) Leila Fowler, MFR and Mrs. Olufunke Fowler-Amba as the administrator. The Chairman of our Board of Governors is Pastor Ituah Ighodalo.

We have approximately eighty (80) academic, administrative and support staff. The student-teacher ratio is 5:1, which gives us a great advantage in providing personalized learning. Our students are between 10 and 16 years old.

What are your School Hours?

The school hours are from 7.30 am to 4.00 pm, Monday to Friday. Extension and co-curricular activities take place from 4.00 pm to 5.00 pm on select days.

What is the curricular or teaching methodology that you adopt?

Vivian Fowler Memorial College for Girls follow a compulsory dual curriculum; the British and the Nigerian, which is taught in a blended manner. Teaching and learning are experiential and holistic, engaging the students in collaborative teamwork as well as independent research. A wide range of educational technologies is deployed, making use of videos, podcasts and other learning tools.

Are there Extra-curricular activities available?

Students engage in a variety of activities like debate, public speaking, drama, chess, scrabble, JETS, Girl Guides and the Red cross Society.

What is the admission process? 

The admission process is quite simple. Parents register their daughter for the entrance examination by purchasing a form and submitting the completed form to the school office. After an assessment, the student is invited for an interview along with her parents/ guardians. Successful candidates are given an offer of admission. 

Tuition? Is there a payment plan for the pupils?

For a day student, at the time of admission, a fee of approximately N950,000 is payable. This includes tuition, books, uniforms and tablet. The fee is approximately N500,000 for subsequent terms.

For a boarder, the first term fee is approximately N1,400,000. For subsequent terms, the fee is N900,000.

How do you assess a student’s progress?

We assess students for holistic development. In addition to formal examinations, students’ progress is assessed using a wide variety of techniques which include group work, independent activities, class and homework, holiday assignments, participation in curricular and co-curricular activities, comportment, interpersonal skills and initiative.

What are the disciplinary methods adopted?
