Titanic Composer James Horner Dies In A Crash

James HornerJames Horner, the Oscar award winning composer for the famous titanic film was killed in a plane crash. He was aged 61. He was a trained pilot and was on board a small private plane which crashed on Monday morning.

He won two Oscars for the titanic film score and the other for its theme song. He was further nominated for eight Oscars, for scores and songs for films like; House of Sand and Fog, Field of Dreams, Apollo 13, Avatar, A Beautiful Mind, Braveheart, Alien and An American Tail.

Horner was born in 1953 and started piano lessons at five. He went on to study at London’s Royal College of Music. He studied music theory and composition achieving a bachelor’s, master’s and PhD degrees. He left behind a wife and two daughters.
