Tell us about your beautiful family

I am Temi, wife, mum and a strategy consultant, helping businesses grow by using data to make intelligent decisions. I’m passionate about supporting parents, especially mums, to raise their kids and follow their dreams. That’s why I started Mummyclinicc ( an online platform that supports mums), a place where I provide help and resources to parents. In my free time, I enjoy watching videos on YouTube, dancing, and making videos with my kids. It’s important to me to involve them in my life and see us as a team. One of my proudest moments was getting a master’s degree in big data science, even though I didn’t have a technical background. I believe in always challenging myself and being open to learning new things.

I’m married to my first love, and it has been an incredible journey. We’ve built a strong and loving partnership over the years, filled with support and mutual growth. We’re blessed with two phenomenal children who bring us immense joy and peace. Being a parent has taught me invaluable lessons about love, patience, and the beauty of watching them grow. My family is the heart of my life, and I cherish every moment I spend with them.

How did you meet your husband, and how long have you been married?

We met at university 23 years ago and have been married for almost 18 years.

Do you and your spouse have the same parenting style?

Yes, we do now. We needed to communicate and agree on what would help us raise the best version of our kids.

What do you love the most about your work and all the many expressions of your purpose and passion?

What I love the most about my work and everything I do is that it’s what I’m genuinely passionate about. I wake up every day excited because I get to do what I love and even get paid for it. It feels natural to me, like something I could do even in my sleep. Every part of my work brings me joy and fulfilment because it’s driven by my genuine passion. It’s amazing to feel so fulfilled by doing what I love.

Share with us what you love most about your work as a certified child psychologist and a mummy coach

As a certified child psychologist, what I love most about my work is helping parents understand their children better. It’s like being their personal guide to understanding their child’s thoughts and feelings. Seeing families experience positive changes and transformations brings me so much joy and fulfilment.

As a mummy or parenting coach, I love empowering parents the most. I enjoy sharing practical advice and knowledge that parents can use daily. Witnessing parents build strong and loving connections with their children is amazing. It’s truly rewarding when parents gain confidence and discover practical strategies for raising their kids.

In both roles, the greatest joy comes from making a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families. It’s about supporting their well-being, helping parents nurture positive relationships, and navigating the challenges of raising happy and well-rounded children together.

How important is a support system for a mum? Who is in your tribe, and what kind of your support do you have?

A support system is very important for a mum. It’s challenging to do everything alone. In my case, I have a wonderful tribe that offers both paid and unpaid support. My unpaid support system includes my children, husband, and my mum. They provide love, care, and assistance in various ways. I also have paid support, which involves hiring people or services to make my life easier and save me time. This includes help with tasks I don’t enjoy or don’t have the time for. Having a support system, whether unpaid or paid, plays a vital role in helping me navigate the challenges of motherhood and maintaining a balance in my life.

What are some ways that children and parenting are different from when you were growing up and now?

There are several ways in which children and parenting have evolved since I was growing up. In the past, parents, especially mothers, often had less patience and relied more on physical discipline. However, nowadays, parents do a commendable job of fostering better communication with their kids. They understand the importance of listening and talking to their children, creating a more nurturing environment.

The concept of the “village” that used to raise a child has also transformed in the digital age. Nowadays, parents need to leverage the virtual village beyond the confines of their immediate location. With the internet, both children and parents can access a wealth of knowledge and resources from around the world within minutes. This limitless digital world provides new opportunities for growth and learning.

However, this digital age also brings new challenges. Children of today are growing up with unprecedented access to information and technology. Unlike when we were growing up within the boundaries of our physical location, they can now explore the world from their fingertips. This is why intentional parenting has become not just a nice-to-do but a necessity. It’s crucial for parents to guide their children in navigating the digital landscape, ensuring their safety and helping them develop healthy online habits.

The shift in parenting practices and the digital world’s influence have changed how we raise and interact with our children. It’s essential for parents to adapt to these changes and embrace intentional parenting to provide the best guidance and support for their children in this evolving world.

How are you raising your children to be ready for an ever-changing world?

In raising my children to be prepared for an ever-changing world, I prioritize a few key aspects. Firstly, I encourage their natural curiosity and love for learning, supporting their interests and providing diverse experiences. I also emphasize the importance of adaptability, teaching them to embrace change and see challenges as opportunities. Building resilience is another crucial aspect, helping them develop the ability to bounce back from setbacks and approach failures as valuable learning moments. I promote creativity, digital literacy, and responsible use of technology, ensuring they can navigate the digital landscape safely and ethically. Collaboration and teamwork are also vital, fostering their interpersonal skills and teaching them the value of effective communication and cooperation. Finally, I strive to instil strong values of integrity, kindness, empathy, and global citizenship, guiding them to be responsible and compassionate individuals.

How do you balance work and parenting? Is it possible to achieve this?

Finding a balance between work and parenting can be a challenge. Still, I believe it’s possible with the right strategies and plans in place. Drawing from my experience as a strategist, I treat my experiences as valuable data and develop strategies to achieve desired results. By leveraging both paid and unpaid support systems, I can navigate the demands of work and parenting. This includes having reliable childcare, involving my partner and family in childcare responsibilities, and setting boundaries to allocate dedicated time for both work and quality time with my children. It’s about finding a rhythm that works for me and continuously adjusting as needed. While it may require effort and planning, achieving a balance between work and parenting is attainable with the right strategies and a strong support network.

What inspired you to go into supporting mums and being a certified child psychologist?

It was the prevailing narrative that suggested women had to choose between being a successful mother or a successful career woman. I wanted to challenge and change this narrative by empowering mums to believe they can thrive in both aspects. This led me to establish Mummyclinicc, a platform that provides resources and knowledge to help mums achieve this balance. I pursued studies in child psychology to further support and make this achievable for mums. My ultimate goal is to give mums the psychological permission to embrace both motherhood and career success, empowering them to create fulfilling lives on their own terms.

Can you share what surprised you the most about working as a mummy coach? What would you advise the Parent out there?

The most surprising thing about working as a mummy coach was realizing how small changes and simple strategies can make a big difference in parenting and family life. It was amazing to see how implementing intentional practices and strengthening parent-child relationships could bring about positive transformations. Witnessing parents gain confidence, deepen their connections with their children, and experience positive family changes was truly inspiring.

My advice to parents out there is to prioritize self-care and mindfulness. Taking care of yourself is important, as it allows you to be present and engaged with your children. Find time to recharge, pursue your interests, and don’t hesitate to ask for support when needed. Mindfulness can also help you manage stress and build deeper connections with your children. Be fully present in the special moments, listen to your children attentively, and engage in activities that strengthen your bond. Remember that parenting is a journey, and seeking guidance along the way is okay. Trust your instincts, embrace learning, and cherish the precious moments with your children.

What has motherhood taught you about yourself?

It has revealed my capacity for love and selflessness in ways I never imagined. I have discovered strengths I didn’t know I had and learned to embrace my vulnerabilities. Motherhood has taught me patience, resilience, and the importance of being present in the moment. It has shown me the true meaning of unconditional love and the joy that comes from nurturing and watching my children grow. Motherhood has also taught me the value of self-care and the importance of balancing my needs with my family’s needs. It’s been a transformative journey of self-discovery, growth, and immense love.

Use one word to describe one thing that should not be missing from every home.

Love and Patience.

Share one self-care tip. How do you relax and spend time with yourself?

One self-care tip is to prioritize “me time.” Taking moments to relax and spend time alone is crucial for recharging and rejuvenating. Engaging in activities that bring you joy and help you unwind, such as reading a book, taking a soothing bath, going for a walk, listening to music, or indulging in a hobby you love, can be incredibly beneficial. It’s important to carve out dedicated time for yourself to nurture your well-being, even if it’s just a few minutes each day. I find relaxation and joy in listening to music and dancing, especially Afro beats. Another way I enjoy my “me time” is by going to a restaurant and having a peaceful meal alone.

Can you tell us how you stay stylish and your beauty routine?

I stay stylish by embracing items that align with my personality, flatter my body shape, and complement my skin tone. Rather than following a strict beauty routine, I prioritize activities that bring me joy and fulfilment, which I believe positively impacts my overall appearance. By focusing on things that make me happy, I find that it radiates through my looks and adds an extra sparkle to my style.

Can you tell us one of the funniest things your children have done?

One day, when my kids were younger, they played a funny game of hiding their hunger but didn’t realize they were giving themselves away. When they came to me saying they were starving, their mouths were covered in biscuit crumbs. I couldn’t help but smile, pretending not to notice their little secret snack. It was a silly moment that reminded me of the joys of parenting, where even their innocent tricks bring laughter and warmth to our family.

Can you share more about all the hats you wear?

In addition to being a strategy consultant, I wear several other hats. Firstly, I’m a certified child psychologist, which means I have expertise in understanding children’s emotions and behaviours. As a parenting coach, I provide guidance and support to parents who are navigating the challenges of raising children. I also specialize in child sleep and potty training, offering my knowledge and advice to help parents through those milestones. My passion for supporting parents has driven me to continuously empower myself with hands-on experience and knowledge. I believe that combining personal experience with professional expertise allows me to provide comprehensive and practical support to parents and their children.

Share one unexpected thing about you

People often compliment me on my cooking skills, but surprisingly, I don’t find much enjoyment in cooking.

What 3 things would you like to share with parents as they raise their children to be intentional and successful?

As parents strive to raise intentional and successful children, there are three important things I would like to share. Firstly, setting clear boundaries is crucial. By establishing consistent rules and expectations, parents provide structure and guidance for their children, fostering a sense of security and understanding. Secondly, it’s essential to be deliberate about what children are exposed to, particularly in today’s digital age. Parents should carefully curate age-appropriate content and ensure a healthy balance between online and offline activities. Finally, being a good role model is paramount. Children learn by observing their parents, so practising what you preach is important. Leading by example and aligning your actions with your words creates a powerful impact and reinforces positive values and behaviours.
