No housework day

Dear LagosMums, Today Is ‘National No Housework Day’

It’s No Housework Day! If you are looking for an excuse to get out of doing housework,  Well, here it is.  On April 7th, do absolutely no sweeping, dusting, laundry, dishes and all the other items that fall into the housework category.

No housework day

Our number one nemesis is Housework. Or maybe it’s the time and energy we spend doing it. The interesting part is that it needs to be consistently done or else you’ll find yourself in a bottomless pit of laundry, dishes, food wrappers in addition to God knows what else your kids shove under the couch and in all the nooks and crannies of the house.

There’s always something to do especially on Saturdays, our personal”environmental day”. It could be wiping, scrubbing, vacuuming and dusting. In fact, there are days you don’t know where to start from.

Save yourself all that stress and give yourself a break. I can hear the wheels turning in your head. “How will I relax when everywhere is dirty and I’ll still be thinking of how to clean it later? Oh, please!  I’ll still be stuck with all the additional housework tomorrow? Some of you are just reading this post and shaking your head or doing the epic “yinmu” because you know it’s a scam”. Lol, you’re a typical LagosMum.

No housework day

No Housework Day was created to remind us that all of us deserve a chance to let it all go, and relax in our (probably comfortably) cluttered home.

Don’t forget that you need to rest. Catch up on a book, have coffee with friends or do anything else that you enjoy.

Lest I forget, give the children a break too!
