According to one of the parents who also is a teacher, Mrs Mary Silas, ‘Children’s day is worth celebrating just like Father’s Day and Mother’s Day are also celebrated. It is a day to revive, celebrate and commit our children and their future. As we know, Children’s Day is a day to celebrate children for who they are, they are cherished by parents and the society at large. Of course parents want a day in which they can map out time to give their children a special treat aside from the festive periods.

Also some children are used as labourers, made to live on the streets, disabled, abducted, abused, exploited, discriminated against, suffer violence, amongst others. A day like the Children’s Day is mapped out to give hope to such children, making them realize that the future holds a lot for them, so that the psychological trauma of such doesn’t linger into their future. Emirates took a wise decision to have organized this. However, my sincere gratitude goes to Emirates Airline for organizing this. It’s really worth it”.

Another parent who also happens to be a caterer, Mrs Moturayo Lawal, “Children are recognized as important part of the society, so Children’s Day focuses on the significance of loving, accepting and appreciating children. It’s a good thing that Emirates organized this special event for children inviting children to take part in the activities like face painting, drawing and paintings, free photo-shots, and receiving the gift of a toy.
