SPACE Christmas Edition

On the sunny and bubbling Saturday morning, parents and their children made their way to CCX Lagos for the Christmas edition of SPACE (Shop Play Arts-Craft and Eat). SPACE is a product of Happy Ladybird– an education technology company with a stake in the future of learning experience design. This edition was sponsored by Peak Milk Chocolate with media sponsors being Accelerate TV and Lagos Mums.

Banking on the success of the first edition in May, the event was highly anticipated and it definitely lived up to the expectation. Featuring new and returning vendors and exhibitors like Money Africa, Stem Mets, Comic Republic, Shape A Child, Beryl’s Book Barn, The Yummy Brand, Tots and Cuddles, Kunda kids, and Kayla’s Spa, there were lots of activities for children and their parents to engage in.

Peak Milk Giveaway at the SPACE Christmas EditionThe event began at 11 am as vendors and exhibitors welcomed parents and their children to their booths. Most children opted for face paint before exploring other activities. This gave SPACE its ‘A’ mark as the feel of the event was very arty.

Comic Republic had a wonderful time engaging the children in colouring activities based on the characters of their beautiful comics.

Shape A Child engaged the children in puzzle activities based on the Captain Excellence books.

Kunda Kids was present to engage parents and children in exciting activities while promoting their books based on African mythology and culture.

SPACEBeryl’s Book Barn was on ground to ensure parents shopped books appropriate for their ages.

Money Africa Kids spent time speaking to parents on financial literacy and planning their children’s financial future.

Tots and Cuddles had some really amazing toys on display and a cute colouring station. Parents were grateful to keep their little ones busy while shopping.

STEM METS had the children excited with experiments and robotics exercises.

The Yummy Brand were on ground to offer Korean snacks and drinks to parents on major discount as part of their end-of-year sales.

Kayla’s Spa had really wonderful offerings for Mum and Kids sessions. The children were excited to be pampered and catered to.

The children had such a wonderful time decorating tote bags and painting Christmas-themed ceramic moulds during arts and craft activities hosted by Happy Ladybird visual arts program.

There were prizes to be won at some of the vendors stands and the children enjoyed themselves as the engaged in the competition. They also got to learn as they played, engaging in different science, technology, and art activities. The bouncing castles took most of the heat from the ever-playful children as they enjoyed jumping.

Parents were not left out of the fun as they engaged in different games and activities and won prizes for themselves. They also went on a shopping spree of various items from different vendors.

What’s a SPACE event without food? CCX Lagos offered both parents and children a specially designed menu made just for the event. The children also enjoyed ice cream and popcorn from one of the vendors.

It was surely a day to remember for these children and their parents who are already looking forward to the next SPACE event.
