Kids may look forward to the lazy days of summer, but those three months of relaxation have real consequences. According to research kids lose one to two months of learning during summer vacation. This makes the summer brain drain a nationwide problem. Smart parents are taking charge to stop summer learning loss before it begins. The summer months — if used wisely — can help children grow their knowledge and practice new skills. While there are many different reading programs that aim to engage kids with the written word; there are far fewer opportunities to grow their skills in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) subjects in fun and engaging ways.

Poise Nigeria Limited presents; 2019 Teens Making A Difference (TMAD) Summer Camp
Theme: Embrace the Growth Mind-set
The world is rapidly changing. More so with the advent of Advanced Technology that has significantly impacted on human skills and interaction. With an educational system that is based only on knowledge skills; we should not continue to rely on it to bring out the best of our children. In order for our children to achieve mega success in life, they need the right mindset.
They need to rise above intellectual confines. We as parents, teachers, guardians, must rise above machines and technology, and teach skills to the younger generation that make them human, unique, & superior; and that technology will be unable to catch up with. We believe it is high time we start equipping our young ones with skills that will enable them to work better with technology, now and in the future.

SUMMER CODING CAMP
Spark IT Bootcamp five days Summer Code Camps for 6 – 17 year olds will ignite your child’s enthusiasm for technology – and teach them core skills that will prepare them for the digital future….and yes the future is digital!
Quite simply, coding is one of the most exciting learning opportunities of the 21st century, because it is the language in which the success stories of the future will be written.
Coding is no longer just a cool thing to learn. For your child, it is the essential literacy for the digital age, and it will enable them to understand the technology that surrounds them. Better still, it will allow your child to work and compete in the digital future.
Apart from the additional skills, such as problem-solving and logical thinking that your child will gain by learning to code, it also nurtures their ability to visualize abstract concepts, experiment, find solutions, structure their thoughts and hone their writing skills.
Whether your child is a beginner or not that technically minded, they can give them the perfect introduction to the world of coding. Or, perhaps they’re already a coding whizz, either way, we’re sure to have a course that can help take them to the next level – and beyond.

W.TEC She Creates Camp
The She Creates Camp is a W.TEC initiative designed to help Nigerian secondary school girls (13 – 17 years) develop an early interest in computer science, information technology and related careers.
The She Creates Camp holds both residential and non-residential camps across the nation with a mix of hands-on technology workshops, career talks excursions and leadership exercises, which endeavours to build strong, intelligent and focused young women, well-prepared for living and working in an increasingly technology-driven world. At the camps, we aim to mould young girls’ psyche, give them a positive image of technology, related fields and opportunities while bridging the knowledge and skill gap between boys and girls in their career paths.
Partners and supporters have included Google.org, Oracle, SAGE Foundation, MainOne, Swift Networks Ltd, Kenneth Dike Memorial eLibrary and Laureates College – Lagos. TWEENS AND TEENS NETBALL CLUB
Demilade is an avid netball player. She started Tweens and Teens Netball Club at the age of 12 years old in December 2015 while on her school holiday and has been playing top level netball at Roedean School (UK) over the last five years. She has also played netball outside of school for competitive youth clubs and more recently has been training and playing with The Saracens, a division one women’s netball team in the Eastbourne Netball league (UK) as their youngest team member.
In the camp she teaches girls the game of Netball, and helps those who are familiar with the game to hone their skills by sharing her knowledge from training at various netball clubs and camps and specialist sessions with professional UK netball players. She has also attended an umpiring course with the England Netball Association so she can umpire netball matches for her club and at school where she assists in netball training for junior girls. She wanted to share her passion for netball with her community as she noticed the absence of holiday sports camps for girls.
If you would like your daughters to participate in team sports, this is a great game for them to take part in and if you plan for them to go to school in the UK, it is worth them getting to know the game as early as possible as it is widely played across UK schools.
Finally, there will be an overseeing adult present at all times keeping a watch over proceedings.
