What do you think of when you hear “rich woman”?
There’s really no need “beefing” that woman who just has so much money…or like we call them “money miss road” women. Believe me, it’s not worth it envying that other woman with tons of cash to spend away. You might have even said to yourself…she doesn’t even have time for her family, all she is concerned with is just making money”.
Money makes the world go round. We all secretly believe that it can make us happy. After all, wouldn’t it be great to have enough so you need not worry?
Yes, I can hear you say…well, who doesn’t? There’s plenty of things I can do with money than not having it. Enough to buy that dream car, house, and throw lavish over the top parties, dream vacation, luxury items you name it.
The concept of money comes with a lot of baggage to many, especially women. Many of us grew up with the Cinderella mindset that we don’t have to deal with money once we have our Prince charming. We have inherent belief that it (money) is good or bad or wanting it is good or bad. If you believe in your heart (even subconsciously) that money is a bad thing and having lots of it is really bad, chances are you will never have enough money and you will never become rich.
Money doesn’t discriminate, it doesn’t care whether you ‘re tall or short, pretty face, stupid, kind friendly or worst still it has nothing to do with your background(or your parents). The only thing holding you back is yourself and your own money myths.
Do you tell yourself…”well, am never going to be able to afford that” when you see something you like?
Do you find yourself worried sick about not ever going to have enough money?
Do you complain every time you bring out a naira to pay for something?
Here’s what you can do:
Understand your money beliefs and where they come from. Your money myths are based on a lot of rubbish we picked up while growing up:
Money is the root of evil
Money is dirty
Rich people are greedy and stingy
You can’t be happy and be rich
Check the list and see which ones strike a chord with you. You have to add to the list from your own ingrained belief system.
Then ask yourself… What’s your motivation for acquiring more money? Why do I want to be Rich?
[Tweet “Understand your money beliefs and where they come from.”]
Here’s the truth:
“If your motivation for acquiring money comes from a non-supportive root such as fear, anger or the need to ‘prove’ yourself, your money will never bring you happiness”. T.Harv Eker
Oops, I bet you didn’t want to hear that.
You need to understand: There are several reasons why anyone would want to become rich. Some are stupid, others are sensible, whatever reasons you have, it’s based on your values and perception of life because we’re all different. What is your motivation?
