Chairman Board of Trustees , OIS, Abimbola Olashore’s address
To commemorate such a huge milestone, Chairman Board of Trustees, Olashore International School, Prince Bimbo Olashore took us down memory lane by giving a brief history of the school and telling us their journey so far. He stated that the school was borne out of necessity to give children the best education and he is glad that academic excellence and all-round success beyond the classroom has been the Olashore story for the past 25years.
He further explained “what a child will become in life is determined by the character he or she exudes between the ages of 10 and 16. So if things are done right and the right values impacted in the child, it is most likely that the child will do well in life because these core values will help them as they go through life. This is the reason we lay claim to the success of alumni whenever they succeed anywhere around the world”.

General remarks to parents
The location of the school, Iloko, is one of the attributes that makes the school unique. The children are gainfully involved in community service in and around Iloko which helps to hone their leadership skills.
Parents can also view coming to Iloko as a mini holiday; like going to Dubai to rest. This is because of the ambience and the state of the art hotel that is there for their convenience.
Olashore International School focuses on making sure that the children are challenged to be the best they can be. They imbibe in the children Leadership skills and ensure that they reflect positive core Nigerian values and cultures
Life as a teenager can be very challenging. Telling your children you came first in your time when you didn’t is not going to help them.
Most parents put their children under undue pressure and this has to stop. The expectations are too weighty. Children are expected to do everything and that’s challenging for them.
Parents need to talk to their children and let them understand that they don’t have to be excellent at everything. All they have to do is be the best they can be.
Olashore International School has a mission to get committed to academic excellence; nurture each child to their full potentials in a safe and serene environment, develop leaders for the dynamic global society in the 21st century. It is quite commendable that they have portrayed all these in the past 25years.
