What is the name of your school, and when was it founded?
Our School is Pinefield Schools Lekki. Pinefield Montessori School was founded on 21st September 1999. There was an extension to Pinefield College, founded 7th September 2007.
Please give details of your staff/ administration?
We have a team of passionate, experienced and qualified teaching and non-teaching members of staff. These staffs are dedicated to the development of the children.
What is the ratio of kids to teachers?
The ratio of learners to teachers 7:1 in the Montessori school and 10:1 College session.
What is the age range of your students?
We have students ranging from 3months – 16 years. This covers the Montessori and College sessions.
What are your School Hours?
School runs from 8 a.m. to 3p.m for the Montessori school and 8.a.m to 4p.m for College
What is the curricular or teaching methodology that you adopt?
We use the Integrated Christian curriculum comprising of Montessori and the British curriculum. We have elements of the Nigerian curriculum infused into Geography and History.
Are there Extra-curricular activities available?
There are various extracurricular activities like STEAM, Jazz Club, Literary/Debate, JETS, Model United Nations, Baking, Swimming, Archery, Football and much more.
Are there any after-school services offered?
Yes, after school services are provided.
What is the admission process? Deadline/ is it rolling?
The parents are encouraged to meet with us and discuss their child’s needs, pick up an Application Form. Subsequently, the child sits for a short Assessment Test.

There is a payment plan customized to fit the need of the parents.
How do you access a student’s progress?
We are interested in holistic development so, progress is accessed based on the intellectual, spiritual, physical and social development of a child. Formative assessments are used all the time – daily, weekly, mid-term while summative assessments are used at the end of the term. Through projects, group works, formal tests, IEP evaluations for Special Education Needs.
What are the Disciplinary methods adopted?
We use the Matthew 18 principle first let the child know why what he has done is wrong and why he must not repeat that offense. Thereafter, pre-determined and pre communicated consequences for wrong actions like withdrawal of some privileges are enforced. No corporal punishment is allowed.
