Top 20 Degrees You Never Heard Of

Entertainment engineering and design…these are some of the degrees that students are studying nowadays. At a recent secondary school graduation ceremony in Lagos, many of the students mentioned courses we had never heard of before. Once upon a time young people would answer “Banker”, “Lawyer”, “Doctor” when asked what they want to be in the future. Although those professions are not completely gone (they almost never can be), the percentages electing to study these have dropped.

What is causing the difference? Did parents stop choosing degrees for their children? What we find now is that young people have channeled their choice of degrees in line with their passions. This is a generation that desires true satisfaction through thier work, they believe work should not be endured. Universities are now producing Chefs, Actors, Djs, Stylists, Slappers, Theorists etc. of the future.
