Love means different things to different people. What do kids think about love?
Here’s what these adorable kids had to say when we asked them what love means to them:
“Love is what I feel towards my mummy, daddy, sister, all my friends, uncle and aunty”. Itunu, 5 years old
“Love is what makes you smile when you’re angry at someone” Thelma, 4 years old
“When my daddy comes home late from work and he comes to my room first to say goodnight and give me a peck, I know he loves me. When people love you, they won’t let you sleep angry at them”. Kemi, 10 years old
” I know people love me when they give me something they know I like ” Becca, 6 and half years old
“I don’t know, but I know God loves me. God is love” Anu, 6 years old
We also took to the streets and asked for some teenagers opinion on what love means to them and how they can express their love:
“Love means to show appreciation to someone. We express love in many ways by helping others with things they can’t do” Stan
“Love can be affection or special liking. I express my love by just caring for the person”. Stanley’s friend
” Love is an essential feeling you have for yourself and others. One can express love by showing commitment and caring” A student
“Love is a deep and warm feeling you have towards one and other. You can express love through sharing, giving money and clothes” A student
“Love is ones feeling and deep affection. You express love by showing feelings and taking care of people” A student
Children are a great reminder of how pure love is. Ask your children what love means and let them put a smile on your face
