What is the name of your school, and when was it founded?

Greensprings School, it was founded in 1985 (21 January)

Please give details of your staff/ administration?

Greensprings School is made up of highly committed and experienced professional team. From the leadership team to the Principals, Assistant Principals, teachers, admin and support staffs who are responsible for the daily management of the school.

What is the ratio of kids to teachers?

2 teachers to 20 students (ratio 1:10)

What is the age range of your students?

3 months – 17 years

What is the curricular/ teaching methodology to be adopted?

The Pre-school section of Greensprings adopts a Montessori Method of child education which is recognized throughout the world.

The Elementary Section runs the International Primary Curriculum (IPC). The curriculum is a child-centred and teacher friendly curriculum.

The secondary school runs the National British Curriculum. However Thinking Skills play an integral role.

Are there any Extra-curricular activities available?

Extra- curricular activities available are football, swimming, tennis, athletics, basketball, table tennis, skating and volleyball. We also offer indoor sporting activities such as gymnastics, chess and dance.

Non-sporting extra-curricular activities include coding and robotics, chess, fencing, music, dance, art and craft, ballet and London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts (LAMDA).

School hours? Are there any after school services offered?

School opening hours are from 8:00am – 3:30pm
School office opening hours are from 7:30am – 4:30pm
Holiday office opening hours are from 9:00 am – 4.00pm except public holidays

After school activities include the Basketball Clinic, Kanu Camp, Saturday Swimming Classes, and Summer School.

What is the admission process? Deadline/ is it rolling?

The admission process is straightforward.

The first thing is to purchase an application form.Then submit completed application form with the following documents:

  • recent passport photographs (not more than 6 months old)
  • Photocopy of candidate’s birth certificate or international passport data page
  • Most recent academic reports from last 2 years
  • Applicant’s character testimonial from current school
  • Immunization record and Medical report ( After admission is offered)

Applicants will undergo an assessment/examination according to their age category.

Also, admission is rolling. We are admitting throughout the session subject to availability of spaces.

Tuition? Is there a payment plan for the pupils?

Yes there is a payment plan. School fees can either be paid annually or termly but are due on or before the first day of school.

How do you access student’s progress?

Progress reports are sent to parents every 3 -4 weeks

What are the Disciplinary methods you adopt?

At Greensprings School, the consequence of misconduct ranges from filling a reflection sheet, to detention, suspension or expulsion. The disciplinary method is fully explained in our code of conduct manual.

We recently opened a third campus at Ikoyi. It is a preschool and elementary school which caters for children between the ages of 18 months and 10 years. How will your school prepare children for learning and operating in the 21st century?

At Greensprings, we make use of Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). Our VLE allows our students to learn and study online, access online learning resources, and interact with their teachers. VLE is a great tool which will change and enhance the delivery and assessment of education. We also equip them with “Thinking Skills” required to navigate through a feature we are yet to fully understand.
