Another edition of our Mums Day Out held on July 14th 2019 and we enjoyed a great opportunity to unwind. A group of LagisMums followers were selected to enjoy a movie experience sponsored by Filmhouse Cinemas. Our mums and a few dads who joined us at The filmhouse signature lounge Lekki got to watch the highly acclaimed “Bling Lagosians”, a Bolanle Austin Peters film.
The outing was a relaxing one; the comfort of the signature lounge with the reclining seats, popcorn, drinks and a glass sparkling wine all made the mums feel pampered and relaxed. The staff of Filmhouse certainly made us all feel very welcome. Bling Lagosians showcases the Lagosian lifestyle in the perfect blend of funny but with lessons learnt. By the time we were done we all took home the slang “The 1% of the 1%” and understood what it meant. If you know you know 🙂
Living like Lagosians
The movie was a delightful mix of renowned stage and screen actors who delivered an excellent performance. The story dealt with many aspects of living like the Joneses, or in this case the Lagosians. It was fully loaded with messages that are highly relatable. The movie has enough unexpected twists and turns to keep you guessing.
It was an amazing experience for the mums who attended. The most common sentiment from the attendees was that it was nice to get away for some self-care. As we know mums are always taking care of the children, their spouse and families; with barely anytime spent on themselves. The mums got to meet new people; have discussions as well as enjoy great networking.
The “Bling Lagosians” is worth watching. If you have not seen it yet, make sure you do.

As an unexpected treat, the mums ran into the lovely actress Winihin Jemide. She was lovely and graciously took photographs with the mums.
