Critics

While everyone is mourning with the parents, there are some people pointing fingers and laying blame at this already difficult time. It is important for people to realize the people they are judging are people who are already in pain.

Toyin Lawani reacted to these hurtful comments on her page. She asked that the little boys mum be given a break and that such unfortunate things do happen. In addition she called on critics to stop hateful words, adding that Dbanj’s wife could hurt herself more.

She narrated the story of how her son, Tenor, who almost drowned in a pool where she had gone to work while Tenor was being looked after by her nanny.

“I had to put this right here, I’m super irritated, this is not about any of us, but we can learn from our mistakes.

Investigation

In another development, the Lagos state police command released a statement asking D’banj and his wife to report the circumstances of the boy’s death to the police station after their mourning period.

“It is expected that when the mourning period is over, the family should formally report the circumstances that led to the unfortunate death of little Daniel to the police. May his soul rest in peace. Amen,” police spokesman Chike Oti wrote in the statement.
