INTERNATIONAL YOUTH DAY

The International Youth Day (IYD) is an awareness day designated by the United Nations. The purpose of the day is to draw attention to a given set of cultural and legal issues surrounding youth. The theme for 2018 International Youth Day is Safe Spaces for Youth. The theme is about enabling youth have safe spaces where they can come together, engage in activities related to their diverse needs and interests, participate in decision making processes and freely express themselves.

UNFPA in achieving one of the mandate, “ensuring young people fulfill their potential”, UNFPA partners with UNIC to commemorate the 2018 IYD through engagement of young people in Lagos State through panel discussions and presentations on safe spaces for wellness, civic spaces and safe cyber spaces
