Lagos Kids Mini Marathon

Date: 18th of November 2018.     Location: St Saviours School, Ikoyi

Lagos Kids Mini Marathon is an initiative of The St Saviours School Ikoyi Endowment Fund, it is an inter-school competition. The Mini Marathon is the first kids focused marathon event in Lagos and the goal is to inspire kids to become more physically active for a lifetime from an early age; as well run for a charity.

Although the event is kids focused, the Mini Marathon is a family fun event with exciting post-race activities planned. The first edition of the event took place on the 18th of November 2018. The theme for the event is “Active Kids Rock” Participants are expected to compete in race distances ranging from 1.2km – 5km depending on their age.

Slum2School a non-profit initiative aimed at improving access to education for children who live in hard-to-reach slums across Nigeria will be the beneficiary of the proceeds from this event. In attendance we expect over 2,000 participants for the races and a total of about 50 schools, also including over 500 adults and 300 volunteers


Kreate kiddies cultural carnival & exhibition

As one of Tiwan Tiwa’s programmes, it will take art out of conventional spaces into the public realm, to emphasise the importance of public space interventions. Also, with the Community Outreach, selected historic sites in Lagos Island will be activated with performance art, with the intention to reactivate those areas.

Join the Tiwan Tiwa’s exclusive and holistic cultural experience at the Brazilian Quarters of Lagos Island on Sunday the 18th of November, 2018.

In partnership with REDAC Tours, and guided by Managing Director, Oluremi Dacosta – a descendant and residents of the Portuguese Brazilian Quarters of Lagos Island. Get ready to immerse yourself in their culture, architecture and stories of their Afro-Brazilian heritage.

The tour will have two sessions that begin at the Upper Campos Square at 1 pm and 3 pm and will include visits to 3 family homes, several historically significant sites and end with a special music performance by the Yoruba-Agidigbo Band.
